I guess I could switch it around with braided nylon tubing into the sump? I was wondering why the overflow does not drain as fast as the pump could push. Yes I have some anthelia waving hands in there on the right side of my tank. We have a 20 g tank growing some frags of zoas, and frogspawn I will transfer over. I have a solar extreme 4 54w T5 fixture with 2-10k and 2 actinics.

Yep, that's definitely the reason. what is your overflow rated for, as opposed to your return pump?

Get some spaflex hose, it's a little more expensive, but much easier to work with and you can glue fittings right to it, instead of wrestling with barbs and clamps on the braided hose.

If you are using the stock bulbs that came with the fixture, and you want to get some nicer LPS corals, you should look into getting some ATI bulbs for that fixture. you will be amazed at the difference. Just research what kind of combo you want.

I have the Eshoops pf-800 with the Mag 7, with it dialed down a bit. Thanks i'll look into that spa flex hose. Can you pick that up at local hardware stores like Lowes?
Or is this what your referring to?

Yes I've already been in contact with Daevon from ATI and he has given me a good color scheme, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

yeah, thats the stuff. you can get it at Lowes. but if there is a pool or spa place around, they usually have it cheaper.
