    A recent study suggests we might be able to increase Acropora's tolerance to heat stress, allowing us to "train" hardier corals more resistant to bleaching.

    I think that this is part of the reason why so many of the ORA and other aqua cultured corals have been successful for many hobbyists... these "super-strains" of corals have been created, or if not created "found" might be a better word...

    Oceans Reefs & Aquariums, they are a large aquaculture facility for fish and acros



    Also, I can say that i have seen a build up of tolerance in home aquaria. For instance, last summer the PSU reef had a week of 84-86F temps and we only experienced the loss of a few colonies... the majority of the acros made it through okay
