Hey guys. I have a frag that seems to be doing well other than the skeleton broke and is stretching the tissue. I believe the frag is a favia, but don't remember for sure. Pictures in one sec.

how does 1 sec amount to 20+ minutes!!!! we're waiting here! ;)

If it is a favia and there is a decent amount on the other half that broke. You should be able to take a razor blade and slice off the cracked piece and glue it somewhere. Boom! frag

Sorry. Stupid phone. I am not sure how the thing cracked, but it doesn't seem to have affected the color.

Also sorry the picture isn't too good, its from my phone.

EDIT: Also it looks bleached in the picture but thats from my camera overexposing it. It is a nice vibrant pink and green.

Its hard to tell from the pic, doesn't really look like favia. Kind of looks like a blastomussa. Can you get any more pics with a proper exposure?

I would cut the piece off IMO. Not sure if that piece would survive but the stress of it pulling on the tissue is much worse IMO.

Does it look like the link? If so you have blastos! I have a large colony of red with green mouths as well as the ones in the link. They both are stretching in spots. They outgrew the frag plug so much they started growing polyps on top of polyps and stretching the coral down. Didnt appear to stress the coral, but stressed me so I just took a razor and chopped what was stretched and dangling and put the cuttings inside of a hole in a rock where there is no flow. Within days they attached and now I have another little frag of blastos.

After a Google search I think you guys are right its a blastomussa. I'll take better pictures when I get home. Is this a pressing matter? Will it be fine if left alone?

yes. it will be fine. My red blastos grow so fast they grow on top of other polyps and stretch. Not a big deal, just direct flow away from the blasto.

I'm not sure its growing. On the part hanging down there is a piece of rock I assume it is the skeleton. Also the coral is still the same size only one part is stretched and flapping in current. I'll post better pictures tonight if I make it home before the lights go off.
