Im glad i saw this thread, I have a huge crab(2"+) that looks very similar to brutus, but with red eyes. i've been trying to superglue rocks over his hole because that particular rock is a mofo to remove. every time i glue the rocks down within a day or 2 they are pushed out so i know he's in there. i wouldnt mind him so much if he had'nt broken up my ORA hawkins and Steve E. stag for his furniture.

i guess i have to bite the bullet and pull the rock.

That would be an Eriphia sebana. They get very aggressive when they get bigger

    Thanks inwall.

I just pulled the rock. He wasnt quite as big as I thought, closer to 1.5" but big enough for me. It was identical to the first crab in chucks' link. he was no match for hot hot tap water and a metal skewer. i would have taken a pic but he's in a few pieces now.
there were 4 different coral pieces that came out with him. i guess he was keen on interior design.

    E. sebana max out at 3 inches so it would never become as big as Brutus

They look similar to crabs from the Xanthidae Family but they are actually in the Menippidae Family

I used the shrimp in a glass bait trick...
    I used 2 different glass's < Is that right SP ?>
I would have added more if I didn't catch him the first night... lol

I brought them to the LFS to see if they may want to feed it to someone and to see what the little one really was...
The bigger guy ripped the little one to pieces before we made it there...
they stuck him in a tank for food...
My son was content with that after he seen the after math of the little guy...
