I have a CPR bak pak and the pump went out for a couple of days. Now I have a bunch of junk on the surface of the water. What is the fastest way to remove all the waste? I just bought a new pump and just put it in. I am not sure if turning of my Koralia's would make it better for skimming the water faster. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for the help.

just give the new one a little time. In the meanwhile stop or drastically reduce your feedings, it doesnt hurt the fish to go a day or two with out

You can manually skim it off the surface with a cup, or try to soak it up off the surface with a clean paper towel. Or, you can let the Koralias have at it and stir it into the water column where your new maxijet pump can skim it out. I hope that skimmer is not on a averaged stocked tank any larger than 30 gallons.

If you are using the Rio 600, do consider upgrading to the Maxi-Jet 1200. It was a lot more reliable for me.
