    I don't know

Nor could the typical hitchhiking mantis. They might get one good whack in and then the fish would swim away quickly.
I just dare not add anymore fish at the mo!

At PR, I could have an amazing fish and the second a customer they didn't know came to the tank, they hid. They didn't know them...they were afraid of them. If I were to go by their tank they were out...they know who fed them. To put it into different terms, Cherokee (chocolate lab) played with a pufferfish all day long when she wasn't greeting customers. If a customer walked by, the puffer disappeared. Fish do see you too. When Cherokee died and all of the staff bought me Tyson (Boston Terrier), that pufferfish knew that wasn't Cherokee. They did not have the same friendly relationship.

sorry to put this back up again but im really worried............got my two new fish today & they have settled in fine but i turned the main light out & just left blues on & what ever it is that keeps making the clicking is on the rampage!

Its just been not stop clicking for the past half a hour & its moving round my tank now call me parraniod but im sure its hunting! & also noticed three snail sells outside the burrow i have been watching which has now been blocked over by a small rock! Its got like a rock front door LOL............forgot to say it moves the small rocks around outside its burrow......do pistol shrimp hunt around the tank & move small rocks about? seems very odd to me

I turned all my light out just before i writ this & all the clicking is just amazing, it really is none stop.......do you think i should turn all my light back on as im really worried something will eat my new fish as they are not used to there new tank.?

Both pistols and mantis make noises. Pistol shrimp make that noise on their own, mantis make that noise while killing a snail or crab (and sometimes while digging through a rock). Both species use shells while decorating their den.

If you're worried about your new fish and you know where the den is, put some sinking meaty food down there so it's full and not hungry.

Good idea thanks! I got a bi-coloured blenni & he is sooooooo cute but he decide it would be a great idea to his new home in my live rock near the burrow.......I did buy him a safe vase to hide in but he only spent a hour in there before he went out exsploring his new tank

All fish made it through the night thou which is a good thing
