Have been doing the math and I think we are missing something. BRS two part Cal-ALK or Kents Tech cb part A which one is more cost effective. Not trying to be cheap both are good products which one do you think is a better deal.

    for a 125 reef tank
depending on what you keep in there
the BRS product will vary from slightly (mostly softies and some LPS) to much more (SPS and clams) cost effective IMO

So Steve what you are saying is the more you use the more cost effective it will become. Because we have figured you need more BRS than Kent to do the same job But you get all three in a kit. If we are down to penny's I will buy during a group buy and just use BRS just because of there customer service.

Wait - are you talking about the Kent Liquid supplements or the powder stuff?

Remember, the "gallon" of bulk reef supply chemical makes a handful of gallons of solution (for the magnesium it will make about 2 gallons and for the others it will make probably 10+ gallons of alk and calcium solution. For me, 1 gallon of calcium and alk for my 120 reef (lightly stocked at the moment) lasts more than a month. So basically one Two part Large Kit will last at least a year for my 150 gallon system.

I cannot speak to the specific Kent stuff you are looking at but I think perhaps it might not have been clear to you that the Bulk Reef Supply stuff is to be mixed with RO/DI water. So you get a "gallon" of powder calcium supplement which will make many gallons of solution.

To the best of my knowledge BRS' two part kits are the best bang for the buck and like Steve said the more you use, the more you'll save.

Would you mind sharing the Kent stuff you are looking at? We can compare them better if we know what you are looking at.

    Ocean-No problem:
    Tech M Magnesium Supplement - 1 gallon

    Tech CB - Part A - 1 gallon
    Tech CB - Part B - 1 gallon

They are all liquid form, I understand that BRS is powered that's great now that I know how much you use and are Tanks are similar I am Happier

I have to learn how to put links in here.

Yeah looks like BRS all the way.

The Kent stuff is liquid as you saw so you are getting a whole lot more it seems with the BRS stuff.

Also, if you have to correct your levels versus maintain them, the BRS stuff is also better as you can mix a "corrective" dose to fit your specific needs using the BRS online calculator (which is really handy and easy to use!).

To post links you just copy and paste like you would any text and the post itself will recognize that you are posting a link and will format it to be one.

BRS all the way...plus it is really easy to use...once you start testing, just use their on line dose calculators to keep things in check. With the Kent stuff..it is less accurate I think. I really messed up my mag/alk/ca balance using tech CB. I switched to BRS, got everythign dialed back in where it needs to be and have never looked back. I ordered the complete kit from them about 15 months ago...and maintain my 120 and 100 gallon tanks with it...and I still have over half of it left.
