How do you best control all the electronics that go underneath your stand? This isn't meant to be an aquarium controller question.

I see in pics under some stands there is a power bar of some sort, but all that's showing is the on/off switches for what I presume are a lot of plug ins. Is there a product name for this? I assume its so if you want to turn off switches you aren't reaching behind the sump etc to turn off power outlets and such.

I'm kind of obsessive over "cord management", so I'd like to have everything under the stand as organized as possible. I'm thinking I'd need to make a mounted box to hide most of the cords and power outlets, with the face being the power bar face thing I just described, with added space for vortech controller, and apex controller.

Does anyone have any advice on how best to set this up? Pictures of setups are great help!

    Thanks

What you are talking about is the American DJ Power Strip. I finally got tired of the cord mess under the stand and losing about $300 dollars of electronics to water damage, I bought a small bedside nightstand and mounted my stuff in there. Controller power strips, led driver, vortech back up battery, etc. Now I can just open the door and move wires, work on things, etc.

You can in the sense that all electronics plugged into the power strip will be controlled by the 1 outlet plugged into the controller's port. I have an 8 port power strip plugged into an 'Always On' outlet on my APEX myself that always stays on unless I'm doing a water change or go into feed mode (all 8 items on the power strip are controlled by the 1 port on the APEX that the power strip is plugged into).

DJ switches are the bomb...we use them on several of our setups.

I use them as well. They do work great. Threw some quick labels on the switches and made it so much easier.
