I do my 90 gal every two weeks with a scrapper and daily or every other day with a mag. It is what it is.

Im going to try this - no scrapping for 3 weeks!
"The best way to get rid of it (it worked for me) is to let it live out it’s life cycle on the glass for 21 days, without disturbing it. During that period, GDA will mature and eventually die off and drop off the glass. After GDA has lived out it’s life cycle, it can be scraped off the glass and won’t return."

do u not look at your tank daily? I do mine every day I get home from work, and I have a 6foot 150 and 75G, as I look at my tank to see my fish or my reef I do a quick scrub, and weekly water changes or nightly feedings I razor quickly the stuff the mag wont get. SO simple so easy and so worth it to see my mini ecosystems... I can't imagine not putting my hand or watching my tank daily!

ofc i look daily but watching film algae grow and the constant scrubbing is inconvenient sometimes. i try keeping my hands out as much as possible though sometimes it's tough. :)

CAn't imagine scrubbing every week?? Don't you have to scub to get normal coralline and algae off the glass anyways? But to answer your question, I let mine grow out, and have not seen it back. So its possible.
