Ugh well, it finally happened again! My stupid unknown coral (this time a frag...) landed on a relatively new acropora frag... Must have happened some time in the middle of the night. The frag has already shed 3/4 of its tissue and i am really angry! Anyone know the chances of survival or what I can do to help...

All the other times this coral has attacked the results were usually not so promising... but ill give anything a shot.

that is a pretty old picture... but it still looks kind of like that, just much bigger and meaner!

I'm guessing if the other times its happened it hasn't turned out well its probably not going to be any different this time. Have you considered gluing your frags down?

Yeah, I was pretty careless, I didn't realize that I had put the frag right above the other ones... I am a little hopeful because the last part of the injured frags seems to not be deteriorating anymore... everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!

    Hi Bruce

dont know if you can get it there, but recently I used a Geisemann /DD brand of reef putty and was susprised by how good it was
its a 2 part pack , and available in different colours - I used the one that is purple so looks like coralline, its easy to use, just cut and roll together for 6 minutes the 2 resins
and then apply to base of coral or onto the rock and press the coral onto it

its tacky when mixed and the coral will hold firmly straight away (unless a snail or crab lumbers into it) 24 hours later, it sets rock hard and then snails can climb around it and the coral will not topple

Try Loctite super glue gel. Put a dab on the rock, and a dab on the base of the coral. Attach hold 10 sec. your done. Definately secure your frags.. those turbo snails don't care what they know over~ ;)
