pick the snails up and sniff them at arms length and gradually move them closer to your nose - if they are not attached to the rock and are lifted easily they are probably dead and the smell will confirm it -serious, you will know right away from the smell, if they are Ex snails

you dont want dead/decaying snails in your reef while it is still maturing IMO

we need pictures of these new frags? hint, hint

    Pics+snails

After days of letting them soak in my tank i picked the snails up and one of the disks fell off. My nose was 3 feet away, I almost puked 4 times!

I learned something, if snails never come out in 2 days get them out! don't try 4 days OMG sickness.

    Here's some bad pics....

Next time, just let the bag they are in float for about 20 mins, add a little water at a a time and put them in. There's really no need to put them into a separate bucket, then back in to a bag and they put them in.

I wish you lived closer cause i stocked my tank with a cleaner crew and then found out i had hundreds of stomatello snails already. i hear mixed review about them but i have harvested them a couple time and i love the job they do to my tank and others who i gave them to. they are never a problem. only thing is they sometimes are eaten by wrasses(sixline) and some hawkfish.
