Recent re-organization at work has it so I'm going to be traveling a lot more, so I'm looking to get a good controller for my aquarium to control lights, dosing pumps, etc. looking for recommendations as I've never used one before.

The apex is getting a lot of good reviews, Other wise the reefkeeper, and the aquacontroller are others.

I assume you want connectivity through internet. I would.

thanks, looked up all the info on those and looks like the reef keeper elite is perfect for me. ordered one from marine depot, with some of the new koraila evolution power heads to use with the wave make functions , should be here friday(I'm so damn impatient i payed for the fast shipping) YAY more electronic gizmos, now i just have to finish wiring a new electrical circuit to power it all.

cool! post what yo think about it when its all hooked up! like/dislikes..
When i move in May i'm going to make the big purchase myself. I've looked at nearly all the controllers on the market and I think the RKE is the one for me as well.

well got my RKE and hooked it up today, the wave maker and power controller were all pretty simple to configure. sadly my SL1 (PH/temp/ORP) unit is damaged so i have to wait for a replacement.

the dosing pump option allows me to use cheap 3gph aqua lifters as dosing pumps, since it allows you to set it to dispense for X second several times a day

the one thing that was very disappointing was the NET module. pretty much all it does it let you look at the current values over the net, I had in my head I could turn things on/off remotely, and possibly even modify the programming, but that does not appear to be true(or I'm missing how to do it).

the hydor evolution powerhead i got with it are really nice i have them going on/off in 2 minute rotations, and not a peep out of them when they start

Yeah I noticed you could only view over net and not control but supposedly they are working on making it so you can operate over the net. But also from what I heard when they are working on it it could take forever. I still love my reefkeeper tho.
