I use the Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155. Its a little more expensive, but has an electric eye and not subject to floats sticking, also has a sensor for high water level and sounds an alarm when the water level is too high.

Also I don't understand why you want to put the ATO on a controller circuit .

What is the best way to do ATO then? I just want to automate as much as I can and really just feed and do water changes after a while.

I know there is never nothing to do on these tanks....we are always tweaking and thinking about what to do next....

For ATO it depends what system you decide to use. Lots of ATO's are based off of people just timing small pumps to add water several times over the course of the day until a float switch is triggered.
If you use the Tunze osmolator you don't really need it on a timer IMO.
If you figure out what ATO system you want to use then you can decide if you need/want it controlled by the controller.

BTW I have an AC Jr and it's worked out great for me so far but I really prefer the upper end versions that have net access so they can send alerts to your phone if something goes wrong (power outage or heater fails etc). I think you can get a net module with the RKL somehow so that might be a good option if you ask me.

+1 on the osmolator, no need to tie it into a controller works great all by itself.
