Currently I have an aquacontroller jr, Lab PH probe, Temp Probe, DC8 Bus, and Lunar Sim hooked up! I was wondering from what Ive read, most everything would work on it. But Im unsure If the DC8 will? (The outlet port for the controller to control the equipment) I was wondering If anyone knew If that would beable to be transfered over to the Apex JR? or not. Thanks for your time!

Click the image and jump to the Neptune site.

Sorry according to Neptune Systems, you cant use the DC8.. its unclear about the lunar simulator, but other stuff should work. You might have to get a module to hook up pH probe.

Yuppers.. would require the PM1 for your PH probe.

Shame on the no legacy support for the jr, but for the price.. can't blame them.

With the full version, you can add the DC8 with the display no problem.

I think the issue with the Jr is the lack of X-10 control for the old models. They just left that part out completely. The display has nothing to do with it's ability to function.

So if I were to want to upgrade to the apex display which you can buy seperately, what all would I need to use the DC8 and probes?

The DC8 will never be able to work with the Jr. You would need the full version.
The good news is that you can still sell the DC8's on RC for a good sum and get the newer one for the same price as a DC8.

As for the PH probe, a PM1 module would be required.

I is the JR just based off the Display, Cause im looking at neptune systems site, and you can by the apex display... alone is where im getting at maybe I have that wrong... However looking at it

    AquaController Apex

    ( Neptune Systems )
    Price per Unit (piece): $499.95

    Apex System Contents

    1 Apex Base Unit
    1 Temperature Probe
1 Apex Display Module w/ 10’ AquaBus cable
    1 EnergyBar 8
    1 6’ AquaBus cable
1 Standard Grade pH probe (may be upgraded to lab probe)
    1 Owner’s Manual

That would be what I have basically in the JR minus the Lunar sim?

The full version has; Base Unit, Display, EB8
The Jr combines a stripped down Base Unit inside an EB4.

The display is just a module and controls nothing. It is simply and input/output device.
The base unit is the controlling part.
Due to the small size need to fit in the EB4, they left some control functions out to include the PH port and X-10 controls and smaller memory. This is also why the Jr is limited to how many modules can be connected to it (to include a display).

Could I still use my DC8, If I just got the display and the main apex module? (Which should be capable to using my ph probe and temp probe?
