Clownfish gonna host?

My clownfish has been swimming in and out of my big toadstool for about a week now and and just randomly acts like nut in it sometimes. It's not laying in it or full on hosting. The toadstool doesn't seem bothered, doesn't retract it's polyps at all. Also, the clown swims down into the toadstool then pops up and spits something out of it's mouth. When I walk over to the tank for a closer look the little punk just wants fed and comes up to the top. I don't see any damage or polyp retraction when it does it. Any ideas what it's doing?

 

It might be possibly trying to feed its host????
