I have 2 Ocellaris clowns and the smaller one (probably male) is digging a big hole in the sand. The larger female doesn't though. He does this right in front right up against the glass and at night it's the same place where he sleeps. It isn't bothering me or anything else in the tank, I'm just wondering what exacly he's doing. Does anyone know?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
This is normal behavior for both male and female clowns. Just staking out his spot and if old enough to spawn, a prep behavior prior to spawning.
