I have a pair of Black and White Clowns in my current 46 gallon tank. I am moving my reef to a 125 gallon tank and thought about getting a couple of false percs to put in the tank also.

Will the B&W and False percs get along together in the same tank?

they almost definitely will not. Clowns of different species will fight in a tank. I think you'd regret it if you tried. Sorry.

+1 to that. With percs you may be able to introduce some young fish of the same species that have not matured to male or female. As long as you put in fish that are still unsexed (juvenile), they will remain unsexed in the presence of a mated pair. Some species of clowns do not allow for this, but percs are cool with maintaining a family group such as this. However, if the fish are already sexed, they cannot go back to unsexed and there will be problems.

If you are interested in trying this, getting a lone fish in a tank at the LFS is not the thing to do. It may be female. You need to get a few small specimens from a large group. That would increase your chances of success.

I agree they might fight but I have a freind who put his bi-racial couple (false perc and black perc) in with his marron clown into his 150gal tank and they are just fine but they all went in together. I myself have a maroon in with my false perc and they seem very friendly with each other also but once again they went in together. You couple that you already have - have the territory they want and will defend it. I think they would fight!

I have a pair of tomatoes and 5 false percs in my 120. For the most part my tomatoes stay on the right side, false percs on the left. Sometimes the female tomato will end up on the left side with the 5 percs and have a small battle, but its VERY VERY small, and then off to the right side again she goes. Been this way for about 6 months now, part of the aggression of the female tomato is her eggs that are on the right side, she doesn't want anyone going near them.
