just wanted to get some input on this combo

i've got a 6 foot tank and love both of these fish has anyone had good expeirence

i've googled and searched on here and came up w/a lot of info and what to watch out for so i'm aware of how much space the both need and diet and
the difficulty of getting to acclimate and eat and what not but what i'm
curious about is if anyone has had success of these two fish together specifically

i know they are both acanthurus tangs and that's what i'm concerned about

what i usually hear is don't get two w/simmilar body shapes and to me they look very different but i guess since they share the same diet they will be competing but keeping them well fed is my plan

i'd really love to hear success stories long term or even bad stories but prefer from EXPERIENCE not he said she said that someone saw

    TIA guys!

I personally have not had experience with these two, but I know that you should not keep 2 of the same family together. IE 2 tangs or 2 Dwarf Angles.
But if you have 3 or more of the same family it is not a problem.

I have a Clown Tang. They can be one of the meanest fish in the sea. It was harassing triggers and angels of similar size to the point where it had to be removed. It gets along fine with my 22" Queen Trigger. I could not have sold it to someone with a reef tank and keep a clean consience.

Clown tangs get way too big for a 125, you will have aggression issues very quickly unless you get the best possible specimen. I had a powder blue kill 2 other tangs in 3 days in a 125, and now I have 3 that get along great, though they are some of the smaller tangs in each genus.

I was afraid of getting a PBT that was not strong enough from collection, so I waited until I saw a very 'active' one come into the LFS. Looking back, I think I pick the most 'genocidal' PBT I could find.

Get a 12 foot long tank before getting one IMO, easily one of the most active fish I have ever seen.
