So I bought a pair of clown fish four days ago and yesterday I noticed that one of them was kind of pogo sticking it around the other one and twitching. I remember reading on here some where a while back that by doing that the fish was trying to get the other fish in the mood. My question is if there doing that is there a decent chance they are going to bump uglies? Will I be a father? They are the only two fish in a 30 Gallon tank.

I've had that happen quite a bit in my tank, happens often, even have seen the eggs on the LR. I haven't had the ability to move them to a dedicated fry tank so in a matter of days the fry are no more. Either way, its a really neat thing to watch :)

Most tanks don't have a large supply of the microplankton the fry eat (someone please chime in as I don't recall the name of the stuff, but you can buy the cultures). In addition to that, the strong flow, impellers, carnivorase fish and overflow don't make it a very friendly place for baby fry.

they eat phytoplankton and rotifers, and micro zooplankton. liveaquaria has a really good blog going on their breeding of the $6000 Mcoullch clown fish right now, cool rearing set up, feeding info, etc.
