Bought a clownfish (percula) the other day, and for the first two days, he swam about like normal, and yesterday evening, he started hanging out up top in a corner. He's eating fine, I feed him pellets once, sometimes twice a day. I do have a yellow tail damsel, that rules the tank. He's had the entire tank to himself for the last 6 months, and he chases my clown when he gets close. He's aggressive as you can imagine. Clown ate again this morning, but still hangs out in his corner at top of tank. Should I be worried?

Mine did that for the first couple of days but your damsel will bully it to death ( exactly like mine) best to remove that damsel..

What should I do with the damsel? Tank is 55 gallons, won't that be enough room?

Guess I could just give him to my LFS, at least then, he'll have a chance.

Similar to my experience bought a pair of clowns last week. they were fine for 3 days then started breathing hard and on the 4th day bam! one just died:( the other one is hanging on but I don't know if he will survive. Still breathing hard and all other fish in the tank are ok. Anyone have any idea why this happened?

This may not be a possibility but can the rockwork be rearranged? If so the damsel may have to reestablish territory and give the clown a chance. Other than that I am not sure what else to do since the damsel went in first.

That's what i did! I have a 55g and he thought he needed the whole tank, nipped everything i put in there! Ya can see if it will be ok, i just would'nt risk other more expensive fish's lives on it!IMO
