I'm pretty sure the female clown is looking into the brain coral to host it. She was nuzzling up to it for the last 30 minutes or so. Don't get me wrong, whatever she wants to call home... but there are two RBTAs in the tank lol.
    Caught red handed...

The only problem with a clown choosing an LPS for a host is that most of them have rough, sharp skeletons and the clown's activity can cause serious injury to the coral. Don't take me wrongly, it has happened before with no problems. However, a few corals have been mutilated and died from it, too.

Trust me, I'd prefer for it to host in the RBTA. I just don't know how much control I have over that right now. As of yet, it seems to be very lightly touching it.

Since you do have an RBTA in the tank, she might only be building her immunity to reside in it. Clowns do not have a natural-born immunity, unless they were raised in a nem. I've read that placing a fake nem deco in the tank helps build their immunity if they reside in it, and just yesterday (I think it was) someone posted that a clown that had resided with a mushroom for a few weeks finally dove into their BTA. Hopefully that's the case. :)

My open brain is host to my clown pair as well and it has got me very frustrated. I can isolate the brain, it opens fully and returns to normal health, but as soon as I allow the clowns access they go right back to it.

I'll be following this thread because my brain is beautiful and I don't want to lose it.

After about a half hour, no more nuzzling. Also, I've seen them accidently touch the RBTA and it didn't stick to them

That could be a good sign. If they're getting that close, they may be getting ready to move in.

It's usually if I startle them. They steal food from all the corals, never the anemone

Well... the female clown seemed to be calling the male to the brain this morning. They both went as a pair to check out the possible apartment for rent. I wish I could put up a "leased" or "no units open" sign on it. I'm wondering if they'll eventually realize they get fed near the anemone and not the brain coral... better to have delivery than carry out.
