Clove Polyps Not Opening

    For some reason the last week or so my clove polyps have not been opening up at all or would randomly open up here and there. I did notice my Pygmy Angel nipping at them a couple times and that the base of each polyp is colored black (my lfs has the same look but they are all opened up). My water is perfect and no traces of phosphates an the polyps are located in medium light as well as a medium flow area.

    i think you pretty much answered your own question. i would guess its your angel the reason why there not opening up...

    They aren't new, so it's not an acclimation issue. It could be that you're angel is irritating them.

    Ya, I kinda had a feeling but I have only seen him do it a couple times... they open up almost halfway, so i dont know if they do that when they feel threatened.
