Worst advice ever  unless you know a 100% whats in it. A RO/DI is one of the best investments. I would get water from your LFS until you can afford one, it will save you a lot of headache.

i would suggest buying RO water from a walmart, your LFS or your local grocery store. Most grocery stores have a "Water Island" where you can fill your own jugs. Thats a start. Someone else mentioned in the post that the bacteria bloom can eat up all of the oxygen in the tank. Are you running a skimmer? If so, it will help oxegenate the water, if not then you gotta rig something up.

Option 1: Take a regular air pump (one of those simple $4 ones from walmart used on freshwater tanks to add pretty bubbles) and some airline tubing. Place an airstone on the end and pop it in the tank. The bubbles will break the surface of the water allowing more air/water gas exchange

Option 2: A simpler approach.....point your powerhead at the surface of water so it is constantly agitating it.

I would recommend doing both if you have no skimmer. if you have a skimmer, just do option 2.
