After doing a lot of searching on the interwebs I finally found good enough pictures of a couple of hitchhiker anemones I have been trying to ID forever. If I am correct these are Phyllangia Americana. I love how they look in my tank and havent caused any problems that I am aware of. Tank has only been running for 4 months though... I just got an AI Sol for my 30G and within the month am going to start stocking corals. Will these anemones cause any issues with stinging incoming corals or are they peaceful. I would like to keep them if I could.

They will multiply rapidly! I had 2 of those in my 29 and felt the same way and within a few weeks I had 12! Get rid of them! They will outcompete everything in your tank! They will sting corals if given the chance and reproduce like mad! I helped a buddies tank that he had neglected and these things were literally floating around the top of the tank like they had a parachute attached to them! They are bad news!

Zoo 4 life: Are you sure you had Phyllangia Americana (Hidden Cup Corals) or might you have had Majano Anemones. I have heard they are easily confused.. I know Majano's are a nuisance. Does anyone know if Hidden Cup Corals specifically are a nuisance?

I have never directly fed them. Will they sting my soon to be bought corals?

again, I wouldnt risk it, nps can still get food from waste in the water. I would just take care of them and not be sorry in the future.
