the front glass is our main viewing area and as such people do focus most cleaning on that panel
side panels that are accesible or if its a tank where the side panels are also on display (tank is room divider etc ) then people will also clean those very often

the back glass is often left, simply becuase in many cases its not so accesible
and the coraline that grows there etc , does not interfere with viewing pleasure so its not seen as a problem

I clean all 4 sides of my tank. I like to keep the back clean as I think it makes the corals be more of a focus point (and I have a little OCD tendencies ;-). But, as Steve said, for most people it is not that big of an issue....

i like to leave it. i think it looks much more natural. also i like to let my front get slightly dirty before i magfloat it so i can get all that algae floating in the water for filter feeders

My back glass has started to accumulate some very nice green and bright red algae... I like the look of it. :) My snails do a good job of containing it but I hope it is filled some day... I like it :)
