    Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to see what everyone did when it comes to cleaning their Koralia powerheads. I clean mine bimonthly and just scrub them in salt water and clean the gunk out and off of them. What do you guys do or recommend.

I do the same dan. Just clean them every month or so during a waer change or if I see visable build up. I soak them in diluted white vinegar for a few hours every 3 mos or so just to keep all the parts working well and in good repair.

I clean mine once every few months depending on coralline growth.

I take the powerheads completely apart and soak them in a 1:1 ratio of vinegar water solution for 24 hours. I then take a toothbrush and brush the dead algae off the pumps. They look brand new after I scrub them with a toothbrush.

Do you have to clean them? I like how yucky mine gets because then it blends into the tank...

I like them all caked up and pretty from corralline growth also, but they do work a lot better when they are clean. ;D

+1. It is amazing the difference a cleaning every so often does for the flow.

I like the look too kc so I just scrub out the inside and let the coralline keep growing on the outside. I just cleaned my yesterday as a matter of fact and somehow I have 5 baby feather dusters living on the inside. I guess they get good flow in there :).
