I just turn them inside out and rinse them in the sink, then throw them in the washing machine with just bleach, (Bleach cup in the washer). When done withthe spin cycle, I just let them air dry. Once bleach is dry, it becomes inert (Dead). Been doing it this way for 4 years...no problems.

    Word!!

    50/50? I put about 1/2 cup bleach /gallon water.

then the TAP water to rinse, let em dry, and use them.

    Rinse? Prime? Prime?

ONe work comes to mind- overkill

I do the same exact thing as Robman but I don't use bleach - Turn the sock inside out, quick rinse under the sink to get any larger chunks of anything out - throw them in the washer - let them air dry and throw them right back in the sump - been doing this for a year now with no issues

I couldn't agree more, Todd. People take their anti-tap water agenda way too seriously. Tap is not poisonous, and even if it's too dirty to use for a water source, the amount of contaminants left on a filter sock or whatever will be diluted to the point of infinite nonexistence the minute it hits the tank water. lol

I have 7 on rotation; they clog up every 4-5 days.

Dirty ones go into an empty bucket with a lid. When I'm on my last clean one, I clean the dirty 6 in the bucket. Turn them inside-out and blast them with the hose outside. Then let them air dry for a day.

    And repeat the rotation.

Washer with a few sprays of oxy clean. Come out BRAND NEW. I replace once every few months. I wash every 3 to 4 days, despite it not "over flowing" it still has trapped food/etc in there decaying.

Ditto - i really don't understand people using bleach - vinegar and water is much safer imo.
