Cleaner Shrimp Died AGAIN!!!

yea my sailfin tang swims between to rocks (where my shrimp hide out) and its like a car wash... like 3 shrimp will swim and stick to him and start washing lol but usually tangs are pretty mellow

 

what kind of clown do you have? And also...does it host an anenome?

I had a maroon clown, which hosted a large frilly mushroom! We had a terrible time keeping shrimp because the maroon clown would kill them and feed them to his mushroom!! I didn't believe it at first until I found the regurgitated shell of the shrimp in the opening shroom.

 

how do you top off your water? is it automatic or manual?

shrimp are sensitive to SG swings... if you manually top-off, you get SG swings.


I lost a few shrimp in this way (and I lost a few more to a hungry Royal Gramma).

Now that I have ATO setup (and no more Gramma), I'm going to be giving shrimp another try.

 

a gramma? i wish i had one like that, i have only had two and both were skiddish and were bullied by smaller fish, ended up giving them away because they were just miserable.
