Contact echotech. Their customer service is awesome. They can give you direction. Sorry to hear about your tank. Good luck with everything.

Sorry to hear about the troubles.

When I used to run a HOB O/F, I simply made it a point to check the U-tube weekly during routine maintenance. Algae can build up in them over time, but they can also suck in bubbles that can slow them down (the bubbles can generally be tapped out of them).

Another thing you can do is add a second U-tube as a backup.

It has 2 U tubes, i think that is part of the issue. The thing is rated for like 1100gph, and my pump only does like 600gph. So one usually looses siphon completly because there is just not enough flow.

But what i did to solve the issue is this. I lowered the water lever in the tank, and the return section in the sump. So if the overflow does loose siphon again, the amount of water that will be able to be pumped up will not overflow the tank. :) Might burn out my pump but at least I wont have a flood. haha

For this reason exact reason, I choose to build all of my electronic equipment above the tank rather than place it below. Gravity works 24/7. I'd rather have my floor wet than all of my expensive equipment. Sorry about your Mp10, but I'm happy to hear that's all that got damaged.

Yea super glad I have tile floors. Can only imagine what it would have done to carpet and subfloor. Haha hanging all my stuff away and above tank from now on.
