    Hello:

Anyone uses DIY Chiller? Using a small fridge with tubing going through it. I am thinking about picking up a $50 used mini-fridge and making one myself.

Any good results? Thanks for your input.

Well if your tank is small enough for this to work then you may well be better off just taking that 50.00 75.00 and reworking the thermostatic control and all the tubing and what not needed you may will could find a smaller chiller cheaper in the long run , What you are thinking about is far less efficient at heat exchanging then a real chiller and they are not that efficient or cheap to operate . Thats Mini fridge will have about the same sized compressor as the chiller and elect. demand and where to chiller maybe will give you a 5 degs.f pull down in a hr the mini fridge may take 10 hr and pull down 2. degs f
