My JBJ chillers also kick in after 2 degree deviation. I have mine set for 77ºF, so it kicks on when it hits 79ºF, then turns off after it hits 77 again. since the chiller coils are still cool, the water actually dbottoms out to 76.8.
If a chiller would allow a 1º shift, it would be running all day and would last about a year. Stability is what we want, but mild shifts are normal and fine. Remember that the temperature that the chiller (or controller) is taking the average temperature in the tank where it is being measured. There will be locations in the tank where the temperature will be both higher and lower than what is stated. Personally, I have a glass stick on thermometer at the top of the tank, along with a temperature probe in the fuge. There is usually about 1º variation between the sticky and probe. I set the chiller based on the average of the two.

but you're measuring in fahrenheit and i'm measuring in celsius, a 25c to 27c would be a 3.6 increase in degree fahrenheit.

Because my Chiller is controlled by my Profilux, I have the chiller set to 76F. But the profilux comes on at 81F. and off a 79F I guess that's only a 2 degree swing

Even a 4ºF shift isn't much, that is about 2ºF both ways (meaning turn on to turn off temps) which looks to be ok. It looks that your temp is set at 26ºC, so it kicks on when it hits 27º then shuts off at 25º right? That may just be what the manufacturer set as it's operating triggers. What model is it? There may be a way to change it.

nope i've set my chiller to 27 degrees now, but it's actually around 26.6 , it kicks in at 28.6 and chills to 26.6 . but since my room temp is not that hot, it kicks in maximum 2 times a day. not so bad. i've read that corals do best at 27 to 29 degrees. i feel so too, my corals look better with this temp ;D

As long as they look like they are doing good, that is what matters. :)
