When I had my coral beauty I was told it is best to vary their diet offering frozen prepared foods, regular fish food and vegetation such as green algae on one of those little clip things just to keep their minds off more valuable pieces in your tank. Of course I never had coral with my pygmy. Many people say they go years and never see a nip. But once they do, they become proffesional coral nippers

wish it worked like that. Feeding a varied is good and couldn't hurt; however, most of the time pygmies aren't a problem until they are. I have had a couple over the years and all of them where fine for a couple years and then one day they started picking corals. Once they start its over you can't stop them.

Provide some frozen options too. I use to feed butterfly and angel frozen ON food with Vitamins supplements added

Imo its only a matter of time. They always eat corals. I had to learn this lesson the hard way. Not once but twice. I tore down my tank to get this fish out. Never again will i ever thnk about an angle.
When i see a flame angle n start wanting one i punch myself n da junk. Uz dats wat it feels like when they eat a couple hundred dollars.
