Hey guys, i came up w/ a new way to clean tank glass without chemicals. Ok, first, you need:

    - a spray bottle
    - tap water
    - a hand towell
    - and a wiping skin for drying cars (I call it a sheep skin)

OK if you have some drippage on you tank w/ the salt left on it, First you fill the spray bottle w/ tap water then spray the water on the glass to dilute the salt. Then take the hand towell and go over the water very briefly, now your glass should have a bunch of little water droplets the towell left behind. So take your sheep skin and wipe the tank glass and bam, you have perfect streak free glass. Always remember to keep your skin in the tube moist to keep it like new. Also, get the most expensive skin you can for best results. so, what do you guys think?

    Nice idea. :)

I learned a nifty trick too, those "Mr. Clean Magic Erasers" are the bomb. They work wet or dry, and take off that salt haze that remains after wiping dry with a towel.

My friend with a reef tank turned me on to them. They are really amazing. Words don't do it justice. Try it out. If I'm lying, I'll give you your money back. :)

    Sham-wow's are great also.

Really tho, I've just been using cotton towels and spraying generic non-ammonia windex on the towel then following with a dry cloth... any reason not to?

I've been using Windex with ammonia for more than 20 years with nary an issue. I spray from about 3/4 up the glass, with the nozzle pointing towards the rear lower edge. No spray ever gets into the water.

I'm sure some might feel a bit queasy doing this on a reef tank, but IME, there's no reason not to.

I freakin love those things. They really do work to get stuff out that regular cleaners won't. I haven't tried them on the fish tank though. We just use Windex.

also, if you have freshwater tanks, you can just wipe off drips w/ the skin immediately or spray old drips w/ water then just use the skin.

The other day I rubbed a $20 with one, and I'll be damned if it didn't turn into a $50.

That reminds me of a joke. Will post on The Bucket in a minute.
