I recently had a battle with ick my LFS recommended Chem-Martin parasite treatment, they said it worked great, no copper, invert safe and no need to quarantine. The good news is it seemed to cure the ick after about 3 days as the white spots where gone, however it my Ph plummeted and the saline spiked so I lost the fish anyway. I was wondering if anyone else had better luck with this product or if I should just dump what is left over down the drain.

Just because the white spots disappeared does not meen the ICK is gone. Trust me it will be back inside of 2 weeks. As soon as they hatch and go looking for a host. If you lost all your fish already I would go setup a quarantine tank to have ready for your new fish and then wait for 45-60 days before you introduce any new finned Friends to your display tank. There is no cure for ICK accept quarantine and medication and time. Don't waste your money on anything other that copper meds or perhaps some garlic for a preventative measure. I am a beleaver in feeding a variety of foods to my fish both frozen and flake. I also use Boyds Vitachem vitamins twice a week in my food. If you keep your water quality extremely good and your fish well fed and healthy and always quarantine everything your fish-keeping experience will be much happier. A healthy fish is much better at fighting off the bad diseases. Not trying to knock your LFS's procedure for fighting ICK but I wouldn't listen to him on this. He is trying to sell product that may have been a poor purchase on his part.

    Good luck....
