i have used one for sevral years, as long as it takes standerd filters and membrains, you can put better filters and stuff in it as you change them out.

Honestly spend the extra $100 and get a spectrapure. It will save you the difference in price by the second time you need to replace all the media due to greater efficiancy in the carbon blocks and RO Membrane resulting in about a 75% increase in the life of the DI resins.

You get what you pay for with most ebay quality systems. Its not just unferior filters, many still use old style compression fittings instead of John Guest style speed fittings, use non ANSI/NSF rated filter housings which are usually made from inferior plastics that get brittle and burst, don't have pressure gauges, TDS meters, adjustable capillary tube flow restrictors and much more. All those little things add up and the cost to upgrade far exceeds the cost of a quality system to begin with.

I doubt you can find anything close to the $120 unit at the top of the page here and certainly not the quality. Look at the filter micron ratings, treated and tested 90 GPD RO membrane, custom blended DI resins in a full size 20 oz vertical refillable canister and cartridge, capillary tube flow restrictor and pressure gauge.

If its purewaterclub then instead of buying it you should just go get mugged. You'll get a better deal. I made the mistake of buying one. While I wouldnt call it TOTAL junk, I would say its about one step up. Other than the fact every single elbow and fitting on it leaked, it didnt even come from them plumbed correctly. Lines ran back onto themselves. Does it work now? Sure after I spent the time & additional money to fix it.

To even add further insult I got en email from them a month & a half after I left a neutral feedback to ask why & that I shouldve contacted them first. Well I guess they check email as often as thier feedback cause I left 5 that went without response.

I have one and it works fine. Almost all RO units out there use Dow corning membranes

Its Dow Filmtec and many do use them but lots don't. Many of the low end systems use the 100 GPD Dow membrane which is not a 96-98% efficient RO membrane but is a 90% efficient nano filter which is very different.
Whatever you buy, if they don't tell you up front what you are getting, look elsewhere as there is probably more they aren't telling you too.
