chaeto question

i will be putting together a refugium within the next month or so, but in the mean time while im saving for a light, would a little chaeto in the display tank be beneficial?

 

absoutely..you can go to watmart and for 1$ get these little white plastic trays that have tons of holes in it..just place the cheato in it and make sure water passes through there..i would only put it in my tank with it in something like this...if you just put it in your tank then it will take over your tank...

for my cheato light i use a clip on desk lamp 40watts that costs 8.97$ and a 6700k bulb that was i think 10$ so right around 20$ for a light...cheato doesnt need any kind of special light just as long as the bulb burns at like 6700k

when i saw them they were around the plastic kitchen ware stuff...it was a pack of 3 for a dollar and change. they have all different size and depths..

if ur tank has tangs they will try to eat it and can cause digestion problems because chaeto is very hard

 

nah its just a 28g, no tangs for me haha
