    ok i lost my bubble tip anemone while i was on vacation about 2 months ago... didnt loose any live stock THANK GOD! (had my sis watching over the tank she said its not her fault but what ever lol) and now im wanting another anemone, the gf said the bubble tips are ugly and she dont like "the bubbles" so im looking into carpets... whatcha guys thing? and what kind of carpet would be best for saddles?

    well personally i wouldn't go with a carpet anenome... it has been known to eat other fish that aren't clowns...if it's a clown only tank, then sure, i think that would be pretty cool. if i were you i would check out a bulb anenome. they look very cool and have been known to host clowns easily. and there's quite a few different looks and colors to choose from.

    If you had any trouble at all keeping A bta, than a carpet anem is definitely not for you. It is by far one of themost difficult anemones to keep and requires much more intense lighting than your t5's, not to mention a 55 gallon is WAY too small for any sizedcarpet.

    And for the record- an anemone IS livestock and should be treated as such.

    see thats y i post this thread, i dont know much about carpets.. i knew some have know to eat other fish but i didnt know a 55 was to small.
    and i had no problem what so ever keeping my bta, i had him for abut 3 months, i left for a lil over 2 weeks and came back to a dead anemone....

    I would at least make sure you understand what you're getting into, here is some info regarding them. Just running out and getting one for the hell of it sounds like you're asking for trouble.

    didnt plan on running out and gettine 1 for the hell of it, thats kinda y i posted this thread... to learn about them b4 or if i were to get 1... just seeing what u guys thought about them...

    on my last tank I had one, and he got so big it looked out of place in the tank. The tank was a 180 gallon and in this photo you can see him in the middle of the tank at the bottom.

    For your 55 gallon I would say stick with BTA
