Does any one or every one use a carbon filter? I am converting my 90 to a 210/220 FOWLR and am wondering if I need this device. I am using a sump, live rock, and a UV sterilizer now, would I need the sterilizer AND the carbon filter?
Thanks for any and all feedback.

You really do need carbon in a filter of some sort. Carbon pulls out yellowing agents (make the water turn yellow over time), and it also pulls out chemicals that algae produce that inhibit coral growth, and that corals produce to kill other corals.

When running a FO system, it is not really needed. It can have it's benefits though... water clarity being one of them.
For a reef system, I will always run it to keep chemical warfare down.
