    what can i do for using sometype of carbon filter in my sump could i just fill a filter sock or something with it and put it in my sump/fuge or do i need to do something else also by doing this what would i benefit from it i have been reading about it but kinda getting confused now lol karma in advance

    how often do you change it and any pros and cons, also what is a good gph pump

    I change it every couple of weeks, 2-3. Here's a pretty good discussion of pros/cons. The main con to me is cost.
    Chemical Filtrants

    The maxijet 900 works perfectly with this although I had to dial mine back with the included ball valve, you might be able to get by with a little smaller pump but BRS suggests the 900.

    You need to make sure you are pushing water through the carbon or it will not be effective.

    do you use the gfo also with it and if yes how often do you change it

    I use them both, and change them at the same time. Technically carbon generally is used up faster than GFO though. If I was really motivated I would change the carbon every 2 weeks and GFO every month.
