When I moved I used a long 27g plastic rubber maid with a small air bubble stone and a small heater. My first priority was those fish. I lined the rubbermaid with a plastic bag then transfered that to the new house first. Set it up in the bathroom with the lights off and plugged everything in. If you DID have a smaller tank you could use already set up in the new house first then thats the best way. Obviously with original tank water....But you WILL need at LEAST one extra air bubble stone and heater. My LR I just stacked into large plastic trash cans.

One major problem that I had.....I underestimated how much NEW water I would need. The tank was so dirty that we decided to toss way more of the original water than intended. This left us with not enough gallons of RO water. So we were running around town at 11pm trying to buy out the Safeway of all their water. This leaving us with a tank full of new water yet not at the correct temperature. So we sat with all the heaters in there, holding a blow dryer in the canopy fan holes trying to heat up the tank. The fish finally got in there at like 2:30am...LOL

No matter what, this is always a stressful and rewarding activity to say the least....haha

Has the maddness happend with the moving of the tank..??
