So I would go get the 29g biocube today but i cant since its snowing like crazy, even tho he is right across the street! haha, but he has the tank running with a clown,LR, and kenya tree and sand. I have a fully stocked 14g biocube running in my room.

I am wanting to basically put everything in my 14g into the 29g obviously. But since i will have to drain the 29g, and do all that stuff and bring it to my house etc..Can i fill it up, add rock. and then start putting fish,coral..etc? or do i have to wait?

Shouldn't be any probs as far as moving from one tank to another. If you have any sponges or anything that holds your bacteria you might want to move it over aswell. Let your new tank run before you add your livestock. GL :)

EDIT: You want to keep as much as you can from your old tank and put it all into your new one, including water.

i got a 29gal BC and did a 30 gallon water change out of my 75 and used that water to fill my Biocube...transfered over some live rock and alittle sand(and added a new bag) and you can pretty much "skip" the cycle...you will still have a mini cycle with minor diatoms but no problems on my side...

It would probably be a good idea to wait until you have a better idea of the condition of the existing sandbed.

I would empty the 29 of everything except livestock and sandbed and save the water in separate containers.

I would then, Very Carefully, carry everything across the street being careful not to disturb the sandbed.

Re-fill 29 with saved water and add some new mixed to top-off and emulate a water change.

Again, the condition of the sandbed in the 29 would be your biggest factor in deciding how to make this swap.

I did the exact same thing you are doing only I went from a 55 to a 125. Which is close to the same ratio you are doing.

I emptied my 55 put all the livestock into big plastic tubs along with the water from the 55.

Filled up the 125, put in new sand (mixed some old sand in). Put in the rock that I had along with some more baserock. Then put in my livestock. No problems. Just have to figure out how old his sandbed is.

If you wanted you could use about 15 gallons of his water + all of your water to fill the 29 gallon. Just check all the params before placing in livestock.

I personally would get the 29 set up with what it's got, let it run for about a week to look at things and then move the other stuff in.
