Can I add more

I have a 20 gallon low boy. Currently have 8 lbs of LR 2 clowns( one black and white with yellow other looks like nemo) I hate both of them but girlfriend picked them out. Have 3 hermits 2 snails and a brittle star. My plans are to put approx 20 more lbs of LR another snail and hermit to finish the clean up crew and down the road some coral. My question is can I put another fish in there down the road? I would like to pick out a fish I actually like to put in there with the others.

 

I would think you would be fine adding a Goby or a Firefish. I would suggest something small... maybe even a jawfish or a Wrasse.

 

Jaw fish get 4+" to big for a 20g IMO. Wrasses get 3-4+" as well unless they're of the Pygmy family.
Check out the smaller Blennys and Goby fishes.

 

Really depends on how mean those clowns are. I hated my clown for that reason.

 

I don't believe my clowns are mean but they are still young. I honestly want to get rid of them and just do all coral with one bigger fish but it would make my girlfriend mad. I will just have to look around till I find a fish I like but I still have at least another month before I will add a fish

 

This is the time to set up another tank. Honestly you keep her clownfish tank with those guys and maybe a nem, she will be happy, and then start another tank for 'your' stuff.

That's the truth. I was so happy when my female finally died (I had her for years).

Look at the smaller gobies and should be fine.

I want to also point out, you need to research the clean up crew more. A couple of snails isn't going to do anything...

For reference, I have ~200 snails consisting of 6 different species in my 55 gallon. Different snails for different jobs.

Also, don't waste money on more LR. Just get dry white base rock.
