What camera settings do you use for taking shots of the fish etc.. in your aquarium. Iv tried everything but the image still turns out as a blur. When I use a very fast shutter speed the image turns out black and when I turn the flash on it reflects against the glass.

Macro, no flash! But you gotta hold it so steady!

it's very important that your glass is clean on both sides so when your camera goes to focus on your fish it actually does , they will focus on the closest object that might end up being some algea on your glass, causing your fish to be out of focus and the algea be nice and clear. Macro helps too if your camera has the setting

I'm going to cheat for now on.
I usually have to take 25 to 50 pics just to get one usable one that doesn't hold a candle to what I see other people having taken.
Now, my wife just bought a PowerShot SX120 IS camera and after playing with it for an hour on the aquarium setting, have found that I can take really good pics with few rejections.
I tried to trade her the S3100 for the PS but she says nothing doing.
Have to stay on the good side of her so I can borrow it when I want to.
I just can't believe how much difference the camera could make!
