Hopefully john gets a look at this. Anyways, ive been gone for 2.5 weeks and a little tuft of fur turned into this! I want to know, is this bryopsis or a type of calurpa. I'm thinking bryopsis but I hope not! [IMG]

Also a strand of chaeto with two weeks growth from nothing into this!

looks like Byprosis to me, and I can tell you that it is a reall b1tch to pull off and kill. I had my best luck scrubbing the frag plugs it was on and supergluing over where it was growing.

Heck..... I like mine. I have very thick mats of it growing on the top of my overflows. I let it grow out for a couple of weeks, then rip it off and throw away. Makes for great nutrient export.

Not sure exactly what it is, but it is a PITA to kill off. I finally got it all killed off from my rockwork. Lots of nutrient export is the only way to kill it off IMO.

Definitely Bryopsis. Don't pull it in the tank.....the fragments will land other places and grow there. The next time you do a waterchange, you can keep some old water, put the rock in there and pull. Then with a different bucket of old water, rinse well prior to putting into the tank.

Do a search for elevating your Magnesium with Kent Tech M for killing Bryopsis. It works on most species.
