Calcium at 540 is this safe?

    My calcium is at 540 is this safe? My DKH is about 10.5, Mag 1300. I have a phosphate reading of 1.0 what ill effect can this have on corals. I am doing my water change tomorrow.

    Its a little high, but shouldnt have any ill effects. Just keep an eye on your corals, they will let you know. Luna

    its high but ive met a guy that would keep his calc level at 600

    you could bump up your dKH to lower Ca which would be easier than a water change, and 1300 Mg is a little low with that Ca, try bumping up your Mg around 1500. as far as the phosphates, do you have a reactor with rowaphos or seachem gel or do you have a fuge?

    I run a phos remover in my canister filter.

    i wouldnt worry about your Ca. in a balanced system there are 20ppm Ca for every 1 meq/L or 2.8 dKH, raising the Mg will help that. your PO4 should be lower, whens the last time you cleaned your canister filter?

    some charcoal and other PO4 removers releases PO4 back into the system, or you could be getting it from the food put into the tank.

    some recommend epson salt, i use only seachem products. to each his own.
