i just looked at a tank today, its 120gallons good shape except. along the bottom back seal the silicon gave way. person asked 100 for it.

so my real question here is, how hard is it to re-seal a 120gallon tank, or is it even worth it to re-seal. and if it is able to re-seal is 100 a good price for it.

and if this isnt the right form can you please direct me to the right one

I see deals on tanks all the time. I just got a 90g is good condition for $60. I also regulatory see 120's going for about $120. resealing the tank is do able. but make sure you thoroughly inspect the tank for other issues. how old is the tank also? Just keep in mind the age of the tank and how much time you will need to put into it to make it reef worthy.

    not worth it IMO.
It is do-able. It is also a pain in the butt. If the tank was maybe $20-30 I would say go for it......but 100.00 is steep for a tank that will not hold water.

If it blew out the seam......is it just leaking or did the seam really blow out. If it really blew out, you will never get a good seal without seperating the glass and redoing the silicone between the panes of glass. I attempted to reseal a 125g after the seam blew......couldnt get a good seal and it leaked again. Just remember how much pressure that 100g of water will put against the seams of the tank

    Keep looking IMO

keep looking.......you will find one! We bought a brand spanking new 120g, starphire front oceanic tank, stand, canopy, sump, external pump and reef keeper for 400.00 on craigslist. Guy never got around to setting it up. Still had the oceanic stickers and tags on it. Deals are out there just wait until you find a good one!
