Hey guys, so as some of you know, my previous setup had about an 80% death rate because my heater broke and my water was 95 degrees when I got back from work (thank god I caught it when I did ! I was only gone 8 hours!!!!)

    http://www.3reef.com/forums/general-reef-topics/you-kidding-me-108533.html

Anyway my 55 is down to...
    Leapard Wrasse
    2x Osc Clowns
    Starry Blenny
    Tiger pistol/Yellow Watchman

I figure I want a busy aquarium (not neccesarily active, but busy, always someone to spy on)... So I thought I might try some smaller adds...

I got a Rainford's Goby and 2 Green Clown Gobies... both stay small but personable and colorful...

Eventually I think I will be adding a Coral Beauty (instead of another Flame Angel) and 2 Firefish gobies and maybe a small school (4 or so) scissortail gobies.

I can't have other inverts because the Pistol will eat them...

But I heard I can have multiple pistol's in a tank... so I think I am gonna get another pistol/goby pair as well...

Any other small creatures (like the rainfords or Green Clowns) that would do well in this tank?

that sounds like a lot of fish for a 55 IMO. so i think you shouldn't add more fish.

The scissortail gobies are my 'default' for space... if other things require bioload or territory ... the scissortail gobies go.

well, scissortail gobies aren't going to "school" and they'll likely kill each other off in a quest for dominance over each other, especially in a 55... you'll be lucky to end up with two.

    I love my melanurus wrasse!

you could get a few diff gobies, like a scissor, a bar, a firefish, etc... they will do fine together, and add a lot of movement to the tank...

I also am a big fan of a few chromis, but these can eventually get big...

Would a catalina goby be any good for what youre after? Was looking into those lately and would love to have one. Pretty expensive over here tho :(

(sorry, sometimes tapatalk will pick words for me!)

My firefish would always dual it out and I ended up with one. Maybe other people have been lucky with pairs of them.

orchid dotty backs are nice small fish, if you buy tank raise juveniles they normally pair.

I currently have 12 firefish together 2 purples and 10 red/orange in a 20l with large rubble piles about 40lbs or so. Going on 6months 0 deaths.this is only temporary till the move into my 210 though.they are often schooling together in a loose pack though the purple stay on the fringes of the pack together.
