    Wow Miranda,

I'm so sorry to hear this. It's heartbreaking when things like this happen. I'm glad you're pressing on though.

There is not much I can do to change it so I just move along. just venting that is all. I am more upset my son lost his stingray as he has been through 2 tank crashes now and now a loss of a fish that will be hard to replace. he is a good kid and designed and built his 92 at 10 years old after saving his own money for it. I am scurring to get one this week befire he sees it.

I had read that someone who had the same heater got a $500 or so check from Marinland not too long ago. I could be wrong but you should definitely contact them.

Holy molly. Sory about the loss of all those corals. :( It's kind of depressing that $50(or so) can ruin $2k + worth of coral. I would be going crazy right about now. It's nice too see that you are keeping cool. I guess there's not much you really can do though.

I wanna meet this kid. :)

I am not an expert on GFCI, but with my limited knowledge I would of thought it would of popped as soon as the heater broke and started to fry the tank. Anyone know why it would or wouldn't have?

Sorry for your loss, but I always thought the GFCI could help in this situation.

I also thought it would pop. I know the /circuit breaker/fuse running my tank blew when my heater did that. Your GFCI may be faulty or not a true GFCI.

GFCIs are suppose to react in mseconds..... not seconds. There was something wrong with it if it took longer.
