It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I have never seen such a run on broken and malfunctioning heater as I have the last month.

    Sorry for the loss. :-(

Thanks thankfully the gfci poped and stopped the pain but it was a couple seconds of ouch lol. I was not impressed with that heater as its somewhat new for that tank.

Holy Crud!! Even my LFS warned against those heaters & that was about a month ago!! The dood told me to get the glass ones better??....Go Figure!!

I had a glass one pop on me in a 110g Tall several years ago. Killed all my fish but corals were OK. Did a 50% WC & added more charcoal.....removed burnt smell, everything OK. I had since swore off all glass heaters.

Man Miranda, I'm sorry about that. Don't know how I'd take it. Most likely worse than you are it seems. Anyway, gotta keep at it. It'll come around.

Was it a stealth? Marineland had issued a recall on all their stealth heaters, supposedly there was a factory defect. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, you aren't the only one as this recall wasn't widely reported. I only heard about it because a couple of friends of mine have an online Marine/pet ordering site.;)

It was a glass one. Thats what upsets me! I think it was stray shock that fried the tank. I figured its about 2k in frags gone.... I am not happy but what can be done about it. I am upset but not going to lose sleep just going to hope moving forward things go better. worst part about this day is after I posted this my sons atlantic sting ray died and have not even talked to him about it. just keeps getting better.... hopefully they have one in stock local as usual before he catches it.
