    Hi,

What do you do about fish bullying one another?

I have three female McCoskers Wrasse and one is getting bullied by another. she is sitting at the top corner of the tank and will not move and her fins are all bit up. What should I do to stop the bullying?

I have moved the wrasse that was bullying the other to a small segregation cube inside the tank. the wrasse is stressed out and laying on the bottom of the segregation cube. Is this the right thing to do??

    I have a 30 gallon hexagon tank

    Thanks

can be tough keepin multiples of the same species together, inless they are a schooling fish. were the al lintroduced together? if not, the bullying probably wont stop until the fish being bullied dies. its unfortunate but happens. either take the bullying fish back, or keep it segragated. and a shame , mccoskers are awesome.

Are you sure all 3 are female? Also, that is really too small of a tank, especially it being a hex tank for these fish, that could be one think leading to aggression. You can try turning the lights out for a while or redoing the aquascape, but if you don't have enough hiding places in the rock, the fish will probably die

If there anything like anthias, they should do much better as a real trio . . . maybe trade in the one female being punked for a male? on the other hand a 30 hex has a pretty small footprint for such active fish, maybe a single wrasse would be best.
